The Tuff Squad is here!

Hey Y’all!

A little backstory on the Tuff Squad: At the beginning of 2024, we made a big decision...one that many people might call crazy. We sold our house and went all in on living full-time in a 36-foot camper!

There are six of us: me (Walter), my wife Nicole, and our kids—Brynlee, Emerson, Zenly, and Hayes. Before moving in, we completely remodelled the trailer, which was a bit dark and gloomy. We gave it a fresh, bright makeover: white paint throughout, new beds for us and the kids, and a custom trundle bed in the rear bedroom, turning it into a perfect space for the kids.

We ripped out the old carpet and replaced it with grey laminate flooring. We also redesigned the entire outdoor kitchen, adding a TV for watching sports and movies outside. For the interior kitchen, we painted the bottom cupboards a dark blue/grey and kept everything else white, with a white backsplash behind the sink and stove. We modernized the handles and the door hinges. We removed the microwave and built a custom door to house our air fryer in its place.

In the living room slide out, we tore out the old dinette and couch. I built a new butcher block dining table along the window and a custom shelving unit next to it to hold our Santivia water filter, coffee, and cereals. We picked up a couch to replace the old one, but it turned out to be too small and uncomfortable, so my next project is to build a sectional sofa. I also revamped the TV stand: I blocked off the old space, removed the cupboard doors, and installed an accent wall with shiplap and wood accents. We added a fireplace below the floating shelf and remounted the stereo system.

Finally, our bedroom was the last area we worked on. I cut the back out of the old TV unit to create shelves, which we now use to store our clothes and other items. The room got a fresh coat of paint and a shiplap headboard, finishing off the space nicely.

We’re not done yet—there’s still more renovations in the works and plenty of adventures to go on with the kids!

Thanks for following along!
